Happiness Can Be Yours, Low Self Esteem Women!
If you are one of the many low self esteem women walking around in our society today, you are probably looking for ways to change the negative feelings that you have about yourself.
When they have low self esteem women often suffer from negative effects such as depression, anxiety and eating disorders. In the process, we fail to see the forest from the trees, dealing with the symptoms but ignoring the bigger picture, being the cause of the problem. Finding true happiness in life can be achieved not with a Dr. Feel Good quick-fix solution but by actually finding ways to improve a rocky self esteem.
Here are three simple but effective steps that you can take to change your attitude to yourself. In doing that, you may find that you can change your life.
Don’t let other people pick on you
When dealing with low self esteem women, and men on occasion, find a justification for their lack of self worth by hooking up with dominant, often abusive partners. It’s unfortunate that some women are so willing to put up with their boyfriends’ or husbands’ ways of cheating, boozing and abusing just because they don’t think much of themselves.
If you see this happening to other people, it’s easy to give good advice. But what would you do if you were in the same scenario – would you allow yourself to be treated like rubbish, or would you stand up to the abusive partner and not allow said partner to take away your happiness and contentment in life?
This isn’t baseball – the abusive partner needs just one behavioral warning – not three, two, or some other number of warnings. And if the partner persists, then it’s time you found someone new and got out of the relationship.
Learn to say what you think and feel
Many sufferers of low esteem don’t speak their mind because they believe their opinion wouldn’t matter much anyway, if at all. When somebody says something that you don’t agree with, try saying so. Just say you don’t agree, no need to say why in a minimum of 300 words or to scream bloody murder.
‘Sno big deal – that’s what it will often boil down to once you say that. Often times, nothing happens at all. Sometimes, an explanation would be needed. In these situations, don’t turn it into a heated debate, just answer in a simple, straight to the point manner and that should be the end of that. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, always keep that in mind especially when discussing controversial subjects.
Believe people when they give you a compliment
Not too many people with low self esteem believe in compliments – they would usually give the person giving the compliment a quick brush-off. They would then think to themselves that the person who gave the compliment, someone whose intentions are usually good, is being insincere, either trying to be sarcastic or trying to get something out of you by making flattering comments.
And if you were in this situation, you’d perhaps put yourself down, sometimes jokingly but often for real. This puts them down too, because you are basically telling them they are wrong to like whatever it was that they just complimented you on.
A simple “thank you” would do once this happens to you. If you do this, you are not trying to stop them from liking you. You are showing them that you value their time and their beliefs. You might also come to believe it: and then you will no longer have to rank yourself among the many thousands or millions of low self esteem women.
